Little Tikes: what its three origin labels mean
Little Tikes says most of its products, not all, are made at its Ohio manufacturing facility, and it publishes a key to the origin wording on its boxes and product pages. That key is the useful part: it tells you which toys it labels plain “Made in U.S.A.”, which mix in imported parts, and which are made abroad.[1][7]
Facts on this page come from the maker's own site or the FTC, each with a numbered source; sections marked “Our reading” are our interpretation. We haven't audited the maker or seen its supplier records, and nothing here is a finding that any product meets the FTC's standard. See what “Made in USA” means.
What the maker says is made in the USA
- Most of its products are made at its Ohio manufacturing facility.[1]
- It keeps a separate Made in the USA collection of playsets, ride-ons and backyard toys.[8]
- The Cozy Coupe USA (SKU 664908) product page prints “Made in USA” next to the maker's age grading of 18 months to 5 years.[9][10]
The maker's own label key
| Wording on the product | What the maker says it means |
|---|---|
| Made in U.S.A. | Made and assembled in the US, meeting the FTC's “virtually all” test in the maker's words; it may include minor imported parts that aren't integral to play.[2][3] |
| Made in U.S.A. with US and Global Components | Substantially made and assembled in the US, with mostly US-made components and some imported parts. This is a qualified claim.[4][5] |
| Country named (for example, a foreign country) | Any product made outside the US names its country of origin.[6] |
What it says is made elsewhere
- Products made outside the US exist and are labeled with their country of origin; the pages we read don't list them.[6]
Where: places the maker names
| Place | What it is, in the maker's words |
|---|---|
| Ohio | Manufacturing facility (town not named on the pages we read)[1] |
What's unresolved or limited
- The pages we read don't name the Ohio town. An earlier version of our card said Hudson, Ohio; we removed it because we couldn't find it on the maker's own pages.
- “Most of our products” leaves an unnamed share made elsewhere, so the brand name alone doesn't tell you a toy's origin. The FTC warns against implying a whole line is US-made when only some of it is.[1][11]
- Its plain “Made in U.S.A.” label can include minor imported parts, by its own description. The FTC standard allows only negligible foreign content; we haven't seen any product's bill of materials and can't say how any single toy measures up.[3][12]
What this means when you buy
Read the origin line on the specific product page or box, not the brand. If it says “Made in U.S.A. with US and Global Components”, the toy is made here with some imported parts, by the maker's account; if it names another country, it was made there.
For a big Christmas present such as a ride-on, check the product page before ordering from a third-party store, since a store listing may not carry the maker's origin line.

Manufacturers and marketers should not indicate, either expressly or implicitly, that a whole product line is of U.S. origin (“Our products are made in USA”) when only some products in the product line are made in the U.S. according to the “all or virtually all” standard.
“All or virtually all” means that the final assembly or processing of the product occurs in the United States, all significant processing that goes into the product occurs in the United States, and all or virtually all ingredients or components of the product are made and sourced in the United States. That is, the product should contain no — or negligible — foreign content.
